Petition: Calling on all Australian residents and citizens
Updated: Mar 14, 2021

The COVID-19 pandemic should be a new dawn for globalism; not the end of it. The first step we can take is actively engaging in multilateral efforts to combat the virus – such as by having all countries commit to the World Health Organisation’s Access to Covid-19 Tools Accelerator (find out more here). I have recently lodged a petition with the parliament of Australia asking for its commitment to this global initiative. Please read my petition statement below and sign the petition. Signatures close September 2nd!
As we live in a globalised world where the movement of people is inevitable, the pandemic isn’t under control anywhere until it is under control everywhere, and all Australians are not safe from the virus until the entire world is safe from the virus. Therefore, all aspects of recovery from the coronavirus pandemic are contingent on global cooperation. It is obvious that cooperation in areas such as vaccine development and implementation gives us the best chances of mitigating the devastating impact that COVID-19 has had on our lives. Australia must be engaging in multilateral efforts to respond to the pandemic. Committing to the World Health Organisation’s Access to COVID-19 Tools (ACT) Accelerator is the most effective method for Australia to do this. And this needs to be done now; the virus won’t wait for us.
