Governments are giving money to COVAX AMC – but government funding alone isn’t enough to end the pandemic. We all need to do our part to make sure everyone, everywhere gets access to vaccines. Will you join us and #GoGiveOne?
This week we are highlighting a concrete way that you can make a difference when it comes to vaccine inequity: the Go Give One campaign. Read on to find out what Go Give One is and how you can join the cause.
What is Go Give One?
Created by the WHO Foundation, the Go Give One campaign addresses the growing vaccine equity gap. Go Give One is a ‘campaign with no borders’ - that is, anyone anywhere in the world can donate to the cause! Donations are used to help fund COVID-19 vaccine distribution to lower-income countries, with the money raised going directly to COVAX AMC. Go Give One is an initiative that helps to protect those who need vaccines the most. You can find out more here: https://gogiveone.org/faq
What is COVAX?
According to Go Give One, “COVAX is the vaccines pillar of the Access to COVID-19 Tools (ACT) Accelerator, a ground-breaking global collaboration to accelerate the development, production, and equitable access to COVID-19 tests, treatments, and vaccines. It is co-led by GAVI, the vaccine alliance, the WHO and the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), alongside key delivery partner UNICEF.
COVAX aims to ensure that around half of the world’s countries – the half with the lowest incomes – will be able to get free vaccines to their people through Gavi COVAX AMC so that 92 poorer countries will receive access to vaccines at the same time as 98 wealthier countries, aiming to deliver 2 billion vaccine doses by the end of 2021.”

How Can I Contribute?
Visit Go Give One’s website and make a donation. Your money goes directly to the Gavi COVAX AMC.
Each $5 donation is enough to give one vaccine dose to a lower-income country. Go Give One’s goal is to get 50 million people to participate in this campaign - so if 50 million people each donate $5, that would allow a donation of 50 million doses to those in need!
This is a ‘campaign with no borders’; anyone in the world can donate to GoGiveOne to help achieve vaccine equity.
What If I Can't Donate? Are There Still Ways I Can Help Out?
Even if you are not in a position to donate, there are still ways you can help Go Give One achieve their mission. Sharing the Go Give One campaign on social media using the hashtags #GoGiveOne and #COVID19 helps the initiative reach more potential donors and raises awareness of vaccine equity.

The only way people will be free of the #COVID19 pandemic is by making sure everyone, everywhere is vaccinated. To do this, we’re calling on YOU to #GoGiveOne today.
No matter where you live, we’re all on the same team in the fight to end the pandemic. #GoGiveOne today so everyone, everywhere can be protected against #COVID19.
#COVID19 knows no borders – neither should the vaccine. That’s why the WHO Foundation is calling on everyone, everywhere to do their part and #GoGiveOne.
Vaccinating everyone, everywhere is our only way out of the #COVID19 pandemic, but the gap between countries who can and can’t afford vaccines is growing everyday. Together, we can change this. #GoGiveOne
Why We Support Go Give One
The New Global Normal team supports Go Give One as we recognise that the pandemic isn’t over anywhere until it is over anywhere. Over a year ago our founder published an article outlining the need for global vaccine cooperation. One year on, we know this to be important now more than ever. Individual actions that contribute to efforts addressing vaccine inequity are required to end the pandemic. Without a collective effort from people across the globe to fight Covid, the pandemic will be prolonged and its devastating aftereffects may worsen.
The Go Give One campaign represents our strength as a collective human race. If we communicate, coordinate, and cooperate, we can get Covid vaccines where they are needed most.
We urge everyone to donate to and share the Go Give One campaign. Donating only $5 USD can help COVAX #GoGiveOne today.
